Built for the work that actually matters

A phone number alone is rarely enough

Caller ID can be spoofed, numbers can rotate, and a carrier or caller-name result does not prove who placed a specific call. A useful record connects each contact to its message, offer, URL, callback path, stated brand, consent history, opt-out requests, and preserved evidence. The workbook keeps those facts separate so you can distinguish a promising business-identification lead from an unsupported assumption.

Preserve originals

Keep complete screenshots, message threads, voicemails, logs, recordings where lawful, and delivery records before annotating or redacting copies.

Record one event at a time

Use a separate row for every contact. Do not inflate counts, duplicate events, or convert uncertain classifications into conclusions.

Demand before filing

When a responsible business can be identified, assemble a clear chronology and give it an opportunity to investigate and resolve the dispute before considering court.

How to use it correctly

Build the record in five passes

  1. Start with the matter, not a damages number

Record your jurisdiction, the first contact date, the receiving phone number, private evidence folder, and the business you are investigating.

  2. Log contacts and evidence separately

The Contact Log records events; the Evidence Index records the files supporting them. Connect the two with event and exhibit IDs.

  3. Preserve both identity and consent facts

Document business clues without overstating them, and preserve any permission, purchase, account relationship, revocation, STOP response, or company-specific Do Not Call request.

  4. Review every included event manually

Working calculations appear only after you choose which rows to include and assign a working theory. The formulas are organizational aids—not legal determinations.

  5. Build and track a factual demand

Use the checklist to confirm the recipient, chronology, evidence, requested resolution, response date, delivery proof, later correspondence, deadlines, and costs.

Questions people ask

Free robocall and spam-text workbook FAQ

Is the robocall evidence workbook really free?

Yes. It is a free Excel download and does not require a CallSlayer account. You can follow the complete manual workflow without purchasing anything.

Can I use it for unwanted spam texts?

Yes. The Contact Log supports calls, texts, voicemails, ringless voicemails, and other contact types, while the evidence and consent sheets preserve the surrounding message history.

Does the workbook determine that a law was violated?

No. It organizes facts and working assumptions. It does not establish identity, consent, liability, willfulness, entitlement, settlement value, or what any court would award.

How should I log robocalls or spam texts?

Use one Contact Log row per event. Record the date, time, displayed sender, message type, stated brand or offer, consent and opt-out facts, supporting evidence IDs, and factual notes without guessing or duplicating events.

Does uploading evidence to the workbook send it to CallSlayer?

No. The downloaded workbook remains on the device or storage location you choose. It does not upload its contents to CallSlayer Intelligence.

Can CallSlayer automate this manual process?

CallSlayer can help capture contacts, organize evidence and chronology, and prepare a reviewable demand workflow. The workbook remains available for people who prefer to do everything manually.
